Our experienced Nondestructive Testing staff has conducted fabrication shop and
field tests on various structural steel components. We also can apply
these techniques to identify and /or delineate flaws in industrial machinery.
ATL offers Visual Inspection (VT), Ultrasonic
Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT),
Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Radiographic Testing
(RT) services.
In addition, related
services offered by ATL include: Weld
Inspection, Welding Procedure Development,
Welding Procedure and Performance
Qualification, Shop/Field Inspection of
Structural and other types of Steel
Construction, High Strength Bolting
Inspection, Materials Evaluation, Forensic
Studies, Materials Research, and other
engineering services related to metals in
civil construction.
NDT is performed and results evaluated in accordance with
American Welding Society (AWS), American Society of
Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American Society for Testing
and Materials (ASTM), American Petroleum Institute (API),
American Water Works Association (AWWA), or Military
Standards, as appropriate for the given project.
Why ATL?

All staff performing any NDT method or
evaluating test results are company certified in that method
to the appropriate level (Level I-test performance only,
Level II-perform and evaluate test results), in accordance
with a written practice based on the American Society for
Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) Recommended Practice
SNT-TC-1A.

ATL’s NDT equipment is portable for use
on job sites or in plant facilities. Equipment
calibration and certification is current, in accordance with
the applicable ASTM or AWS requirements.

NDT staff training and certification
are overseen by a company certified NDT Level III
individual. NDT and related services are performed under
the supervision of an AWS Certified Welding Inspector, NDT
Level III, and New York State Registered Professional
Engineer. Training is performed by outside vendors
offering courses that meet the requirements set forth in
SNT-TC-1A-200
