ATL has been a long-standing supporter of education at all levels, and considers education and work ethic critical tools needed to succeed in today’s work environment.
So far in 2015, ATL hired 24 interns and Co-Ops from the following educational institutes:
- Clarkson University
- Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
- Rochester Institute of Technology
- SUNY Canton
- SUNY Potsdam
- SUNY Utica
For over 20 years, ATL has provided paid summer internships and semester Co-Op programs to students from colleges and universities throughout New York State. These opportunities are the perfect chance for students to explore their career, gain valuable job experience, fulfill college requirements, and learn about themselves in the world of work.
Our summer internships and Co-Ops provide for an exciting summer of challenging work and new experiences. They provide real-world exposure to classroom learning and assist students in developing practical skills and training, that will aid them in their education and career.
These programs are an extension of a student’s academic classroom experience, where students will be in a learning environment through work directly related to their field of study. Students also gain valuable mentoring, guidance, and work experience with industry professionals.
Through a required program of training and certification, including programs from the American Concrete Institute, nuclear gauge certification, NYSDOL asbestos certification, corporate safety orientation, and the OSHA 10-Hour General Safety certification, participants are receiving training and certification directly related to their educational programs, as well as leave the program with the certifications that will benefit them years into their career. And, hopefully some return upon completing their degree to begin a career at ATL.
