This Friday is Halloween, where people of all ages will be dressing up, carving pumpkins, enjoying treats and partaking in many of the other festivities associated with the holiday.  While getting spooked is all part of the fun, please make sure to stay safe from actual dangers that may exist where Halloween activities are taking place.  Here are some ways to help ensure you don’t have any real “frights” this year:

Drive Extra Carefully

  • Avoid passing through residential areas on Halloween if possible
  • Go extra slow in areas where trick or treaters may be present
  • Watch for excited children darting into the street

Trick or Treat Safely

  • A responsible adult should accompany children at all times
  • Use glow sticks and/or flashlights to increase visibility
  • Remain in well-lit areas, and only cross the street at crosswalks

If You’re Hosting a Party or Handing Out Treats:

  • Keep your house well lit, and walkways clear
  • Avoid using candles or other open flames that could create fire hazards
  • Keep pets contained, as some children may be afraid
  • If serving alcohol, make sure all guests consume responsibly

ATL would like to “witch” everyone a happy and safe haunting this Halloween!
