Last Friday August 9th, Canton, NY was hit with a historic amount of rain and flooding due to the remnants of Hurricane Debby. The Canton Fire Department was quickly overwhelmed with calls for assistance, requiring the aid of fire departments from multiple surrounding towns.

The Grasse River that runs through the village had risen significantly overnight, requiring assistance from DeKalb Fire, Morley Fire, Rensselaer Falls Fire, NYSDOT, and ATL. ATL provided six pumps and personnel that worked alongside the crew with water removal from resident’s property. We’re so proud of our team for responding so quickly and utilizing our equipment to help our community in such an unprecedented event.
