For the week of June 14-18, 2021, the National Utilities Contractors Association (NUCA), in conjunction with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), is celebrating National Trench Safety Stand Down Week (TSSD).  This is a week for employers to remind their employees of the hazards associated with trenching and excavations, specifically in the use of proper techniques and protective systems.

At ATL, our staff is exposed to the hazards of trenches and excavations on a regular basis, so we have decided to participate in this year’s Trench Safety Stand Down Week.  Our Managers are engaging the staff with face-to-face and virtual toolbox talks regarding trenching and excavating hazards, excavation requirements, various protective systems, and what to look out for when on a project site with trenches.  All participants will earn a TSSD sticker provided by NUCA/OSHA.

Think Safety – First!
