SPT Hammer Energy Calibration/Verification

The Standard Penetration Test (SPT) is the industry standard for the sampling and analysis of soils within the geotechnical design profession; providing a cost effective means to estimate strength and response characteristics of various soil types at nearly any depth.

CAMP MONITORING EQUIPMENT

A Community Air Monitoring Plan (CAMP) requires the use of equipment to monitor and measure potential airborne contaminant releases from a project site. For example, the NYSDOH Generic CAMP requires continuous monitoring of particulates during all ground intrusive activities and during demolition of contaminated or potentially contaminated structures.

CAMP Monitoring

A Community Air Monitoring Plan (CAMP) reduces the potential for airborne contaminant releases from a project site and provides a measure of protection for communities downwind of contaminated sites. This is accomplished by establishing action levels in response to real-time monitoring for volatile organic compounds (VOC) and particulates (i.e., dust).

ATL SUPPORTS NYS REDI PROJECTS

ATL recently provided vibracore sediment sampling for the Ogdensburg City Front Channel Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative (REDI) project. The sediment samples were obtained utilizing one of ATL’s specially equipped sampling vessels and were later analyzed for environmental contaminants in support of the dredging phase.

Concrete Shrinkage and Cracks

I had a college professor that said concrete was guaranteed to do two things…harden and crack. Hardened concrete is the result of hydration, a chemical reaction between cement and water. The loss of water from the concrete as it cures results in a reduction in concrete volume, or shrinkage.
