ATL recently conducted three accredited, educational seminars at the Binghamton University campus.   Over 50 individuals were in attendance for the presentations, including SUNY college officials, local code enforcement officers, and local heads of fire and emergency services.  Each seminar awarded one Professional Development Hour (PDH) credit for each attendee per presentation attended.  Presentations Included:

  • Cheyenne Dashnaw, PE – Asbestos/Lead/Mold: An overview of asbestos and the revised Industrial Code Rule 56; Lead: Concerns for the Design Professional; and Mold: Standard/Guidelines/Control Methods.  (1 PDH Credit)
  • Steve Moore, PE – Construction Materials Engineereing and Testing: An overview of basic field and laboratory testing of construction materials, as well as the difference between typical materials testing and special inspections under the NYS Building Code.  (1 PDH Credit)
  • Brian Barnes, PE – Building Code of NYS – Special Inspections: An over view of the changes in the Building Code of NYS, Chapter 17, Structural Tests and Special Inspections, and related chapters, which outline the provisions that govern the quality, workmanship, and requirements for materials covered.  This seminar specifically focuses on soil, masonry, concrete, structural steel, fireproofing, and geotechnical engineering.  (1 PDH Credit)
